Review: Is Death Wish really the world's strongest whole bean coffee?

"The world's strongest whole bean coffee" – That is what they claim

After several people found out that my coffee of choice is BRCC they quickly recommended that I try Death Wish brand coffee. They claim how it has a very strong dark roast flavor and enough caffeine to cause your heart to explode just from smelling it. The only part remotely appealing to me was the strong dark roasted flavor. Other than that, not interested.

As we all know, shipping is not as reliable as it was over a year ago. So when our order of BRCC BB was delayed we had to resort to finding something to get us by until our order arrived. While standing in the coffee isle of our local Kroger, my wife asked if I wanted to give this a day in court. Reluctantly, I agreed. With the longer days and lack of sleep I thought some extra caffeine might be a good thing.

We had enough BRCC for the next morning and that was it. In the middle of the day I started feeling a little sluggish, so to the coffee pot I went. I pulled out the bag of Death Wish and immediately started questioning life choices, but I needed coffee. Since this was a dark roast I made it the same as I would for my beloved BRCC.

While brewing it did have a nice dark roast smell, but I was still worried about the ruptured heart business.

When I poured it into my cup I noticed it was not as dark as I would have expected. After several sips I realized my heart was doing fine and this coffee had no flavor. FoodTribe I have had white tea that was stronger than this coffee. I actually added some sugar just so I could have a little flavor.

The bigger disappointment happened after finishing a cup and a half of the "World's strongest coffee" – I fell asleep sitting on the couch. Luckily hearing the slam of the screen door out front woke me up. Rubbing my eyes and slowly walking out my front door I was greeted with a wonderful sight, our box of BRCC was sitting on the porch waiting for me. If only I would have waited a couple more hours I could have had a cup of some truly great coffee.

Have any of you all tried this clickbait coffee? Tell me in the comments. Stay safe and stay positive FoodTribe! I love you all!

  • How about the "subtle notes of chocolate and cherry"? Did you taste these two?

    • Nope not at all! It tasted like warm water that was close to the coffee maker.

  • I bet it's better to write last will before drinking that 🤣. I will pass this time and take a sip of my unsweetened tea 😅🍵

    • I had thought about doing that. 🤣

I bet your tea has more flavor and caffeine than this coffee my friend. 🙄

  • If you want good coffee, look at Kingdom Grower's Coffee since you are in the States. They have every coffee you could possibly want. It was the best coffee I've ever had. I ended up working for them for a year or so. It is a small family owned business but it is owned by a Q-Grader and they roast everything in small batches and test every roast for quality. They do K-Cups and portion packs and other things. I recommend the Honduras Medium and Dark, and Southern Pecan and Hazelnut. Every bag you buy directly supports the coffee farmers and provides clean water and healthcare amongst other things. I highly recommend it.

    • That does sound like a good company and it does sound like they care about their product. Maybe if I am in a situation where I need to find coffee other than BRCC maybe I will give them a try.
