Review: Tostitos habanero corn chips

Lets see if they have any spice to them

I decided to give these a try and see if they had any heat, trust me I did not have high expectations.

When I opened the bag I was met with the smell of corn chips and that strong bitter smell that comes from habaneros, although this was a artificial kind of smell though. I do like the size of the chip, although they would be a bit to small for nachos. After eating the first one I waited to see if there was going to be any warmth but what I noticed was a ever so light lime flavor which was kind of nice. After eating five or six more I realized there was not going to be any heat with these, but I did not care they were just really good corn chips. After a few more I decided some sour cream would make them even better and I was not wrong. Then my wife suggested putting some Valentina black label hot sauce on them and that turned out to be the winning combo. After eating these with the sour cream and hot sauce it was a real struggle to put them away.

These are not spicy at all, on their own they are just ok but what they are is a great starting point to making something really good. Now I want nachos you all!

Have any of you tried these before? Let me know in the comments below. Stay wonderful FoodTribe! I love you all!

  • I love the Valentina hot sauces. They have a lot of hot, not too much, without killing any flavor.

    • The black label one has a very good flavor but it would be nice to have a little more heat to it.

    • Why not to make own tortilla chips and add everything spicy you want 🤩. I do pretty often my own tortilla chips when I have some leftover tortilla wraps.
