Upgrade your breakfast with this savoury smoothie bowl
The best way to kick-start your day? With a healthy and delicious (not to mention |nstagrammable) smoothie bowl, of course – and this savoury take on the modern breakfast staple is one of our favourites over here at FoodTribe.
All you'll need to make it is some smooth, creamy ricotta cheese, some yoghurt, some honey and some chillies – with a handful of beansprouts and nuts to give your bowl a crunchy boost. And the pièce de résistance? A few yummy slices of sweet, salty Parma Ham.
Bonus: you can throw it together as quick as a flash, so it's perfect for those mornings when you're high on things to do and low on time. That'll be every morning, then...
- 350g ricotta cheese
- 150g natural yoghurt
- 2 tbsp acacia honey
- 2 chilli peppers, chopped
- 40g mixed beansprouts
- 2 tbsp mixed nuts
- Extra virgin olive oil
- 100g Parma Ham slices
- Combine the ricotta and yoghurt with the honey. Flavour with the chopped chilli peppers, then season with salt, pepper and olive oil.
- Place the mixture in two bowls and top with the beansprouts and nuts. Finish with the Parma Ham.
