Robin’s Kitchen: Can an app help me cook a steak to perfection?

It actually kinda worked

Ever since I cooked my Philly Cheesesteak, I've wanted to cook a normal steak. I knew it would not be easy, I had tried and failed before. It still had to be done.

And so, after work today, I headed to the local Aldi and bought a BBQ Beef Steak. It was 3.33€, but there was also a 30% discount on it. So in the end I paid 2.33€ for the steak and an extra € for some Kräuterbutter.

I only went that route because I did not want to ruin a nice steak by the way.

Because I had no idea how to cook a steak the right way, I downloaded an app to use as a timer. It also gave me a handful of extra tips, but that was it.

And so I set out to cook my Steak just like the App told me. After flipping it, I even basted it with some of my Kräuterbutter just like Gordon Ramsay. Even though the Steak was definitely subpar, and he would probably still kill me for how I did the Job.

But in the End, the Result you get is everything that counts. And I have to say: I did not do half bad in my own humble Opinion. The Steak was pretty much on Point, and dare I say, it even tasted good. It was much better than I had anticipated from a very cheap Aldi Steak. I will still get better Beef the next Time around though. And maybe I will even Film my Journey then.

How does the steak timer app work?

Sorry about the blurry foto.

Cooking Steak well isn't the easiest feat in the world. But using that App certainly helped. All I had to do was select my cut, enter its thickness, how I would cook it, how well cooked I wanted it to be, and I was all set.

It even told me when to flip and how long to rest the meat for in a clear, non confusing way. I actually liked that a lot. Not every Steak Timer gets that right.
