San Carlo - Chocolate Sambuca Flambé

Prior to my recent transatlantic cruise I had the opportunity for a brief visit in Manchester and Liverpool. During my stay in Manchester I dined on multiple occasions at San Carlo Italian restaurant. Here I was able to experience an amazing dessert. This flambé delight is a chocolate shell filled with vanilla ice cream topped with Sambuca lit to a hot blue flame! The melted dark chocolate combined with the sweet elderberry, liquorice accent, works its way into the cool vanilla ice cream to create a dessert masterpiece.
