Halva is a middle-eastern dessert made in various forms with different ingredients. In Iran halva usually is a paste of flour (wheat or rice) and butter, flavoured with a sugary syrup (saffron, rose water and cardamom). Its colour could vary from light golden yellow to dark brown.
This one is called Shirazi Kasse halva, which as how the name suggests is from my hometown, Shiraz and is especially delicious with a cup of tea!
