Simple Dutch pancakes recipes –the student way

I don't know if this is known in other countries, but this is how a Dutch student makes their pancakes...

If you are going to college into a dorm, you'll want to be eating quickly and easily as a student. What about making some pancakes? There aren't many ingredients involved. Basically some eggs, milk, flour, baking powder, and some butter, and you've got all you need to make yourself some delicious pancakes.

But people, like me, who are lazy, have an easier way. It all happens with a bottle – and no not the bottle that gets you drunk. A Dutch manufacturer created some bottles that only need milk or water to be added, shake it for a minute, and create delicious pancakes. At least that's what they advertise. This (student) solution is already some years old, but still new to me.

I decided to play a student and make some of these pancakes. I "forgot" the eggs, milk and baking powder and went straight for one of these bottles. I found one that only needed water.

You just open the bottle and pour in water and close the bottle and shake it for at least a minute. The amount of water needed is indicated on the side, and it leaves enough space for air and space to shake. The only thing I found out is that you really need to shake hard, or hit the bottom of the bottle a couple of times to get all the powder loose.

When that was done, I got myself a frying pan and some butter. I waited till the pan was hot enough and started and OMG it worked easily and without any spilling (Big PLUS in my opinion). When it was done I was able to flip it easily, so there is enough baking powder in it to make the pancakes firm. The color of the pancakes was fantastic, but importantly: how do they taste?

They are delicious!!! Of course I had to put some sugar on because I just love that. But the pancakes are delicious even without it. In the end I was able too get around 8 pancakes out of 1 bottle, and that's more than enough for 1 person.

The plastic bottle can be recycled and the pancakes can of course, be eaten (owyeahh). In the end I would definitely suggest you try it if possible. If not, well keep with the old fashioned way.
