Simple, fresh tomato sauce recipe
Quick and easy. Only a few ingredients are enough
Hi Tribers! Summer is the season of tomatoes, so today I'm making this recipe with fresh cherry tomatoes. It's straightforward, and there is only one crucial thing: getting the right ingredients.
Cherry tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil (Italian is best), 2 or 3 cloves of garlic, a bit of fresh basil, salt, spaghetti.
✅ Tomatoes must be ripe, but not soft.
✅ Garlic, not onion.
✅ Not butter, not seed oil – only (and exclusively) extra virgin olive oil will do.
✅ Spaghetti: Rummo spaghetti is ideal, but I understand that you might not be able to find it. Choose big, thick spaghetti.
Wash the cherry tomatoes and cut them into quarters. Don't remove the seeds.
Put garlic and oil in a pan and stir-fry.
Add the cherry tomatoes and cook over a medium heat.
Allow the tomatoes to cook, but not too much. Leave them for 10 minutes on a medium, "cheerful" fire. Next, add the basil.
In the meantime, cook the spaghetti. Tip: do not break the spaghetti (it is a mortal sin).
When the spaghetti is cooked, remove the garlic from the sauce, drain the pasta and season it in the pan with the sauce.
