Depending on your proclivity for sweet doughy treats, this news is either delightful… or dangerous. Fresh donuts delivered straight to your door will soon be a reality.

Krispy Kreme has announced it is launching national donut delivery from nearly all of its US stores.

You need to be based pretty close to one of the 350 Krispy Kreme locations in the US to order. According to USA Today, chief marketing officer Dave Skena said for delivery you need to be within 10 miles from a store.

There’s a $4.99 delivery fee from most locations; Doordash will deliver donuts by the dozen. You can order via the website or app.

Krispy Kreme has been testing delivery from some locations since 2018.

Skena told USA Today: "We are adamant about our doughnuts being fresh, which is one of the reasons we haven't done this before we were sure we had a third-party partner that could help us ensure that every one of those doughnuts was delivered fresh and always fresh right from the store after it was made.”

The national delivery roll-out begins on Leap Day, February 29. And to celebrate, Krispy Kreme are delivering free donuts to hospitals to celebrate babies born that day.

The company is delivering free donuts to dozens of hospitals, supporting Leap Day babies, their parents, and the doctors, nurses and the other professionals who help deliver them.

This Leap Day, expectant parents, families, doctors, nurses and other maternity ward staff at hospitals within 10 miles of most Krispy Kreme shops can post on social media when a baby is delivered, naming the hospital, tagging @KrispyKreme and using #KrispyKremeSpecialDelivery.

“Krispy Kreme doughnut delivery is pretty sweet, and so are Leap Day babies. Using 2020’s extra day to make the leap to national delivery, while celebrating Leap Day babies, will be a fun moment for our brand and fans,” said Skena.

Will you be ordering Krispy Kreme this weekend?!
