Perhaps sympathy for acting folk is not particularly high, even in the midst of an economically crippling pandemic. After all, why should we feel sorry for the movie star elite who are adorned with the clothing of royalty and bathe in golden tubs flowing with champagne?
Of course, not all people in the acting profession are as dominant as Hollywood stalwarts, so having to endure months of lockdown likely has similar health and economic effects as suffered by the rest of us; socially distanced performing is a new and specialist skill to learn (imagine the effect such care would have had on Fifty Shades of Grey).
Even the superstars of Netflix big hitters have not been spared the misfortune manufactured by COVID-19.

Gaten Matarazzo – who plays the superb role of Dustin Henderson in sci-fi perfection Stranger Things – has been killing time (rather than crazy monsters with massive teeth) and earning dollars by working as a runner at a restaurant on Long Beach Island in the US state of New Jersey.
Along with other members of his family, seventeen-year-old Matarazzo has been dishing out food to hungry diners whilst production of season four of Stranger Things was suspended during COVID-19 restrictions. The hospitality industry is another sector that obviously struggled with the rigorous rules imposed to stem the succession of the coronavirus, so it can be of little doubt that the star appearance of Matarazzo will have helped to boost that particular restaurant’s standing amongst devouring diners.
The curly-haired and geeky fame enjoyed as a result of his Netflix triumphs may not be quite to Matarazzo’s taste however, as it is reported that while rushing around to care for the needs of restaurant customers he has taken to wearing a hat and a statutory face covering. If only he had been equipped with such a sophisticated disguise during his time fighting the behemoths of the Upside Down – then, the Demogorgon would surely never have found him.
