Subway now offering Tiger Bread subs
Your favourite Subway sandwiches have just levelled up...
It's hardly like we have a lack of choice at Subway: the breads, the ingredient combinations, THOSE COOKIES, it's practically sandwich heaven. But Subway has outdone itself once again, as you can now opt for TIGER BREAD as the base of your sub.
Yes, you read that correctly. Everyones favourite bakery bread is coming to a Subway near you (hopefully, as there are only certain locations currently trialling the bread) to make your lunchtime even better. Big fan of the BLT? Tiger bread. Mad for the Meatball Marinara? Tiger bread. Crazy for a chicken and ham sub? Tiger bread; It really does make everything better.
Just so you don't get too frustrated, here are the stores that are currently trialling this incredible combination:
Hitchin
Hertford
Welwyn Garden City
Stevenage
Letchworth Garden City
Sadly, it seems the rest of us will have to wait until later on this year.

Now I'm sure there's some of you furiously shouting at your screen right now in a confusion as to what tiger bread even is, or perhaps you're about to explode with the fact that you know it as 'giraffe bread' – turns out depending where you are in the country, the name changes.

Tiger bread is also known as 'Dutch crunch' or 'giraffe bread' depending where you're situated in the country, but why does it seem to taste so much better than normal bread? Well, tiger bread is to all intents and purposes a perfectly standard bread dough, that is then topped with a thin paste made from rice flour, water and sesame oil before being popped in the oven to bake. This paste then cracks and crisps up as the bread rises and bakes in the oven, resulting in the glorious crunchy 'tiger' or 'giraffe' stripe texture on the top that gives the bread its name.
So there you go - not only do you now know that Subway is offering tiger bread subs, but hopefully you also learnt something, all within one article! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off for lunch...

Not the biggest fan of Subway! If a sandwich is a house, then the bread is the foundation. And Subway's foundation is weak!
But I'll try this! Ol' skool Italian BMT!
