Super-easy, super-tasty panna cotta recipe

An idiot-proof Italian dessert

Here is a fast, easy recipe to make panna cotta, an Italian dessert that's loved all around the world.

I love to use caramel as a topping, but Italian people usually prefer to use strawberry sauce.

Panna cotta

  • 500g fresh cream
  • 9-10g gelatine
  • 60-70g sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • Your favourite topping

Prepare the ingredients

  1. Put the gelatine in cold water for 5-10 minutes until it's soft to touch.
  2. Split the vanilla pod with a knife and extract all of the seeds – they are the sweetest part.

Start cooking

  1. Put the cream in a pot over a medium-low heat.
  2. Put the sugar, the vanilla seeds and the vanilla pod inside the pot.
  3. Keep stirring until the sugar has completely melted.
  4. When the cream starts to boil, turn off the heat immediately, remove the vanilla pod and put the gelatine in the pot.
  5. Stir until the gelatine has completely melted.
  6. Pour the cream into cooking moulds (you can use glasses if you don't have any).
  7. Put everything in the fridge for 3-4 hours.

Wait and serve

  1. Take the panna cotta, remove it from the mould (you can use some hot water to help remove it) and put it into a dish.
  2. Top with whatever you like.
