Taco Bell is rolling out loads more items for $1
While most chains don't offer the $1 menu, Taco Bell is doubling down
Ah, the dollar menu. Delicious fast food for just one of your hard-earned dollars. It doesn’t get much better.
But it seems that most fast food chains are actually doing away with $1 menu items. Except Taco Bell, that is.
They’ve just announced they’ll be doubling down on $1 menu items, rolling out a whopping 21 items that cost just one dollar next year.
It’s part of Taco Bell’s Cravings Value Menu, and it kicks off with the return of the $1 Double Stacked Tacos, on 26 December.
The Cravings Value Menu first launched in 2014, and one of the main changes will be more $1 breakfast items in 2020.
$1 menu items are tough for most chains - as they usually mean low profit margins. Places like McDonald’s and Wendy’s have instead moved towards bundle deals in recent years.
According to Insider, Melissa Friebe, Taco Bell's senior vice president of brand marketing and consumer insights, said that the chain is committed to keeping the $1 menu items around.
She said: "Customers are looking for a real clear idea of what they're getting. And, more and more, this idea of being clear, consistent, transparent. People's lives are so busy, they just want to know that they've got something reliable for them. But what's great about Taco Bell is you also have the variety, the unexpectedness, the creativity."
