Texas woman hops over a fence at a zoo to feed monkeys Flamin' Hot Cheetos

How dumb can you get?

A Texas woman who visited the El Paso Zoo in order to feed the monkeys Flamin' Hot Cheetos has been identified, arrested, and even fired from her job following the incident.

This event happened over the weekend when she was visiting the zoo. The woman decided to hop into the enclosure and attempted to feed the animals incredibly (to them) spicy crisps. All of this was captured on film and has since been circling the internet. In the video, she can be seen sitting near a waterfall, offering food to two of the monkeys. She then walks back through the knee-high water looking far too proud of herself.

According to El Paso's KVIA, the woman has been identified as Luz Elizabeth Rae, 26 who was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass.

After the incident, employees at the zoo were open about their disgust over this act and said: "It's extremely dangerous. These are primates we're talking about here, so they can do some substantial damage to you. They have large canines; they're stronger than they look. They may be small monkeys, but they are extremely strong. They can take you to the ground if they wanted to," Mason Kleist, one of the zookeepers, was quoted as saying.

"It takes years to build trust with these animals and for someone to come in there for five minutes for a video on Instagram or whatever just ruins years of work."

  • Well . . there are countless hours of those sorts of things, yet people won't learn. Leave the natural selection to take place and remove all the "Danger" signs πŸ˜‚Pretty sure Clarkson said it once on Top Gear.

  • What a stupid, selfish woman. I doubt that flaming hot cheetos are on their vet-approved diet - hopefully she didn't mess up their digestive systems ( and training!) too much. 😠 She's lucky she didn't get her face ripped off - a pet chimpanzee in Connecticut actually did that to a friend of his owner in 2009 - that poor little guy was shot when he went after a policeman who was called to the scene (the chimp, not his owner's friend).

  • Of course it had to be a Texan. We just can't get any good publicity because of some of the blithering idiots that live here and pull stupid stunts like this.

    • Don't worry, she won't single-handedly destroy Texas's reputation. Blithering idiots live everywhere. Besides, she has already started paying for her idiocy: "The stunt at the zoo cost Rae her job at the Lovett Law Firm. The company said...
