While most Americans are use to the idea of chicken and noodle soup when they are sick. I got rice soup since my mother is from Thailand. I think it is just as comforting if not more than chicken and noodles for a cold. It is very simple to make, mince up whatever kind of meat you want to use or buy ground, preferably some jasmine rice, water and a few seasonings. Take your pot of water, add rice, minced meat, garlic, a little onion and some salt and pepper. Bring up to a simmer and cook until rice is done. If you need to add more water then add more water. This is very basic soup for when you have a cold. I finish mine with fish sauce, chili oil and green onion. While my husband does soy sauce, chili oil, green onion and sesame oil. Have you ever had rice soup?

Good comfort food for a day like today.
Yes indeed!
Hot soup and cold day go hand in hand.
Oh my, yum 😋! I wish I had seen this earlier, I was trying to steam my sinuses with hot foods and settled for a prepackaged curry and some brown rice with sriracha. PS-fish sauce is awesome. I’m out at the moment.
Lol..this helped me out alot. It helped alot of the aches as well. Seemed liked it warmed me from the inside.
