The ‘beanatarian’ diet is a thing, according to at least one person

AKA The FoodTribe diet? (Obviously a joke, please don’t just eat beans forever)

You can find some really strange things on Reddit. Some of the most interesting and shocking posts appear in the relationship subreddits.

Some are very serious, some are quite sad, some are very funny. And some, well some are about beans.

@redditships, a Twitter feed which finds some of the best Reddit posts out there, found this gem.

Yes, a mystery man is apparently only eating beans (plus two multivitamins a day, ‘just in case’).

I have to ask… is it one of you lot?

However, the man’s move to beanatarianism apparently covers more than just our beloved baked beans, and unbelievably, there’s no mention of any bean pimping going on either...

Apart from random Reddit internet man, runner and filmmaker Beau Miles also turned to the bean life, and ate 191 tins of baked beans of 40 days, while tracking his progress on film.

Apparently he finished the experiment ‘healthy’, but did say he had low energy, was irritable, worse at running… and had lots of random nosebleeds.

While we really love beans, we’d strongly recommend incorporating them into a healthy and balanced diet, rather than going the whole hog into full-blown beanatarianism. Only eating one food without variation will of course lead to deficiencies somewhere…

Stay safe, eat beans, but also eat other stuff.

  • Has anyone asked them the obligatory 'are they really good for your heart?' question?

  • I'm still convinced that that r/relationships post was a troll but even if it is, it's still brilliant.

  • 191 tins in 40 days are amateur numbers at best.
