A plant-based meal delivery firm has raised £3.4m on Seedrs
Allplants, a new plant-based meal delivery firm has raised millions of pounds on Seedrs, an online crowdfunding website. The company has secured investment from over 1800 backers, many of whom are notable business people or venture capital firms.
The participants included Felix Capital (the venture fund behind GOOP and Deliveroo) Octopus Ventures, the ex-CEO of MoneySupermarket.com, Simon Nixon of Seek Ventures, JustGiving co-founder Anne-Maire Huby, and Bulb Energy co-founder Amit Gudkha.
Ann-Marie Huby, co-founder of JustGiving, added: “Sometimes a business comes along that makes you sit up and take notice."
Allplants offers a meals on wheels service for the modern world; all meals are vegan, and come in at £6.75 for an individual serving or £9.98 for two servings. The money from the fundraising has gone towards a 20,000 sq. ft production kitchen in London, from which 60,000 meals will be produced and distributed each week.
