My mom and I did a big shopping trip yesterday to get most things we need for Christmas baking and cooking. Hang in there because I will be sharing her famous lasagna recipe towards the end of the month!
Neither of us ate all day, so we decided on a rare treat of Chick-fil-A. It's right next to our Trader Joe's grocery store where we had to go. Before the pandemic, I noticed this location was busier than any other fast food place around, but yesterday it was literally insane.
There's two lanes of drive-thru and employees take your order at your car window (or you can order via their app). They call your name in the parking lot to drive up and get your food. They're well organized so that one car after the other was able to pick up in a very neat line.
We waited, at most, three minutes for two chicken sandwiches and fries. That's it. With all the people there, the short wait was astonishing. We watched as one car after another drove in like a steady stream. You would have thought they were giving away free food.
We had to visit another grocery store further up the road, and when drove back the drive-thru lines were still busy. I took a picture of their pretty Christmas lights while passing by. You can see a little of the drive-thru line and an employee directing traffic.
I had to Google if Chick-fil-A being busy is a normal thing, and surprisingly it is in many cities. But why? Are they seriously that well loved? It's just a chicken sandwich, I mean... It's a little odd to me. I first figured it was just my city because everything here is extremely busy all day long, but it seems this particular fast food establishment is commonly crowded.
However, the sandwich was absolutely delicious! Or it's just me because I didn't eat anything all day, and we almost never eat outside our home so it was a nice treat.

Bad thing is the closest is over an hour away.
Chick fill A near us is always busy and their service is great. The sandwiches are good as are the chicken nuggets and the Mac and Cheese is famous with the kids I know.
Interesting to hear it's busy for yours too. But it's great how fast service is and the food is so good😊 The piece of chicken was so crispy and hot
The one out here is busy too. I refuse to eat there tho. Lol
CFA is the gold standard in terms of fast food imho. Sometimes there execution is inconsistent, but they really try to keep a high standard and I have found this to be the case in all,parts of the country
It's at the top of my list of US only fast food places to try, not going to lie
