The kiwi pizza: Italia didn't take it well

Another culinary abomination makes Italy tremble...

We have not yet overcome the shock of the pineapple pizza. Now another creative pizza has emerged that was not needed: kiwi pizza. Yes. With kiwi.

The idea came to Stellan Johansson, a Swedish gentleman who thought of placing the kiwi on top of a ham and cheese pizza.

Stellan took the photo and posted it on his profile. But on social media, you will get found out, and people are angry.

"This pizza is good. I'm sorry for those who are offended. I also received death threats from Italy," Johansson said.

The photo went around the world, with plenty of comments from people who came across the kiwi pizza: "It's against nature"... "I can't believe my eyes".

And there's more: "It is a heresy", "Barbarian", "But how do you do it?!"

Pizza cannot be touched. For an Italian, it is part of our DNA and of the certainties of life. We have also managed to make the art of Neapolitan pizza making recognised with UNESCO Heritage Status with a precise specification, which even establishes how high the cornice must be, tells us how and with what products it must be seasoned... and now... someone has put a kiwi on a pizza. Well.

Now, I have already explained that we Italians care a lot about food, and death threats are never justified, but seriously folks... kiwi?

      • No no, it's perfect: the artichokes are in the "4 seasons" and "capricciosa" pizzas. Spinach is there, but I don't remember if there is a specific pizza. If we want something "green" on the pizza, we put the "friarielli" or "turnip tops", but...
