The latest online food video stars... Cookie Monster

It's part of a new Sesame Street initiative to help kids through the covid-19 crisis

There’s a whole bunch of online cooking classes out there right now to ease your social isolation blues. From master classes taught by top-tier chefs like Gordon Ramsey, to a live stream from an actual Italian nonna - not to mention a range of videos on Instagram - you can get your cooking tutorial fix in any number of ways in these quarantined times.

But what about the kids? There’s not a huge amount out there for young budding chefs. Until now. Sesame Street has just launched a new initiative to support little ones through these weird times.

It’s called Caring for Each Other. The website explains: “Your friends on Sesame Street are here to support you during the COVID-19 health crisis, as families everywhere are creating a "for now normal." Children thrive with structure in their lives, and they learn best through play—even in everyday moments. So our site is filled with content you can use all day long to spark playful learning, offer children comfort, and focus a bit on yourself, too. After all, it's important that we take care of ourselves, so that we can best care for our families.”

And one of those resources (the best one, obviously) is a weekly video from Cookie Monster. The Cookie Monster Snack Chat provides kids (and young-at-heart adults) with a “quick snack break” every Tuesday.

In the first clip, Cookie Monster encourages kids to make sure their hands are nice and clean before snacking.
