The McP.L.T is heading our way (well, if you're in Canada)
McDonald's is adding its first plant-based burger, the PLT to its menu on Monday
McDonald's is entering into the ever-growing and popular world of plant-based food, beginning with a P.L.T.
P.L.T stands for Plant, Lettuce and Tomato according to the chain, which claims it's very similar to its other burgers, but made with a Beyond Meat patty.
According to Buzzfeed, Beyond Meat has partnered with other big brands including KFC on its Beyond Chicken, and Subway on its Beyond Meatball. The meat-free movement is reaching far and wide these days.
The new vegan McDonald's burder will appear in store on Monday in 28 locations in Canada, and will hopefully spread its way around the world before we know it.
What are your thoughts on the P.L.T?

But wait a second: This one is going to be made with a Beyond pattie, yet not vegan, correct?
In Canada, A&W started selling Beyond burgers about a year and a half ago. I went to get one right away to try it out. They asked me if I wanted cheese or bacon. I'm not a vegan or anything so I'm not opposed to those items on my sandwich but when she...

Read moreThe Big Vegan TS has been around in Germany for a couple of months now at McDonald's. And while I was excited at first, it quickly became as boring as all other burgers at McDonald's (stopped eating them way before going plant-based). BUT the Big Vegan is not made with a Beyond pattie - so that's an entirely different story!
Yeah, the only way I'm having a plant pattie is if someone feeds it to a cow.
Have you ever had one?
Not in a pattie, but I've had plant-beef before, at a nice vegan restaurant. It wasn't awful, but it's a no from me.
It's like paleo/gluten-free chocolate cake, or Aldi's Wheat Bix for that matter. Everyone says it tastes the same, when it...

Growing up in the '70s, in Australia , a salad roll, which was tomato, lettuce, onion, beetroot on a hamburger bun, was a very popular school tuckshop food item.
This McDs P.L.T. is very similar, so that's fine by me. It makes a nice light lunch.
I'm not sure about the term "light", though! :D
light to moderate ?
