The most basic recipe for making meringues
A whole plate of meringue is waiting for you...
With this recipe you can make delicious small meringues, or an entire plate of it. You decide.
Serves1
Ingredients
- 250 grams powdered sugar
- 4 eggs (preferred fresh and at room temperature)
- 1 lemon
Instructions
- Cut the lemon and use it to coat the mixing bowl (this will prevent any grease from ruining your meringue)
- Separate the egg white from the yolk. We don't need the yolk because it's a form of grease.
- Add the powdered sugar a bit at a time, ensuring it's mixed in before adding more.
- Mix it all together until it's smooth and firm.
- Now you can choose if you want a whole meringue plate. If yes, just pour it on the baking tray (use baking paper), or use a piping bag to make smaller meringues.
- Bake your meringues for 90 minutes on 90 degrees Celsius (194 degrees Fahrenheit) and keep a small gap between the door of the oven (to make sure the moisture can escape).
- Take it out of the oven and let it cool down.
- If you've made a sheet of meringue, chop it into pieces and tuck in.

Sounds interesting I might have to try it.
đŸ˜‹ maybe it will go well if you add some fruit powder
No it was perfect (for me), but you can add some lemonade syrup for other flavours and/or color
