The new McDonald's Christmas menu is out
It features a double Big Mac, because why not?
Christmas announcements have been coming left, right and centre from various different supermarkets and food chains all over the place in recent months. It is the run-up to Christmas after all so it's not that surprising, but everything seems to be coming at a faster rate this year than usually and it's making the Christmas season that bit more exciting. McDonald's has joined in on the festive food train too and, as you'd expect, some of the menu items are a little bit crazy!
The new festive addition that's definitely grabbed the most headlines is the Double Big Mac, which will be available in branches of McDonald's across the UK from November 18th. It's an absolute whopper with four patties instead of the typical two you'd find in a Big Mac, along with the typical Big Mac fillings of cheese, lettuce, onions and Big Mac sauce. It's the biggest burger McDonalds has ever sold, bigger even than the Triple Cheeseburger and the Mega Mac, another four patty burger that was sold by McDonald's in the past. Whilst it was launched in the US earlier this year, it hasn't been available in the UK until now. Considering how gargantuan it is, it's definitely one for serious burger eaters only!
Other items on the Christmas menu include a new Jamaican Jerk Chicken sandwich, made up of two pieces of crispy chicken accompianied by some bacon, lettuce, onion, pepper jack cheese and a spicy jerk sauce, and a new Celebrations McFlurry that has pieces of Malteasers, Galaxy, Mars and Twix chocolate bars in the ice cream along with a caramel sauce. There's also a new salted caramel latte available, something which McDonald's describes as "a hug in a mug" (a pretty accurate description for anything that's salted caramel-flavoured!), and the return of the cheese melt dippers to the menu after a period of absence.
Want to try any of these new festive items? They're on the menu until 29th December, so if you want any of them you're probably going to have to be fairly quick about it! Thankfully they can be delivered (you can order deliveries through Just Eat or Uber Eats, depending on where in the country you live) or ordered through click and collect, so you can get your festive McDonald's treats whilst staying as safe as possible from the ever-present threat of coronavirus that's still lingering around this year.
