The Dial House, a hotel and SPA located in the Norfolk countryside, has teamed up with Red Letter Days - a gift experience provider - to allow guests to bathe in Champagne and 24k gold.

As part of the ‘Champagne and 24K Gold Pamper Experience’, guests will also receive a gold-leaf massage from an experienced beauty therapist. The treatment includes a full hand and head massage with gold leaves, a gold face mask and exfoliation with Temple Spa products.

After the massage (and a meal served in The Dial House’s AA Rosette restaurant), you’ll have the chance to bathe in Champagne-infused waters, in a candlelit setting, with 24-karat gold-leaf bubbles. A bottle of Champagne, some chocolate and gold covered strawberries will also be served during the experience.

According to Dr Mike Tee of the Harley Street Skin Clinic, Champagne contains vital anti-ageing properties and the treatment is actually useful.

”A great benefit of Champagne is the antioxidants found in the grape seed extract it contains,” said Dr Tee. ”As well as the antioxidants in Champagne, cellular activators such as organic acids, minerals and vitamins are said to help slow down the ageing process and repair the skin, too.”

The £600 package includes a luxury overnight stay for two in The Italian Palace suite at The Dial House, in-room candlelit Champagne and gold-filled spa bathtub experience for two, a bottle of Champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries with gold leaf in the room, a 24K gold leaf facial for two, dinner at the two AA Rosette-awarded restaurant and breakfast.

  • Bath with Champagne? Yes, please! Bath in Champagne? What a waste!

  • I guess the reasoning here is: there are people in the world, who have too much money, so let's relieve them of some of it. Perfectly justified 😊

  • Absolutely not. Think of all the electronic components that could be made with all that gold (not to mention all the folks who could drink the champagne)! What a horrible, horrible waste!! I have to ask - besides the valid point that brings up about some people having too much money (presumably more than brains) - WHY?

  • I would prefer to drink the champagne 😅

  • Surely you would drink the bath water!!?? Or is that just me….?
