There's a new Game of Thrones beer to celebrate 10 years since the show started
An extra-hoppy IPA with 7% ABV
The producers of Game of Thrones teamed up with Danish brewery Mikkeller to release a special edition beer to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the show, which is going to be available across the globe.
“From the very beginning, collaborations have been one of the key elements in Mikkeller’s universe and are one of the things we have the most fun with and love the most,” said Mikkel Bjergsø, Mikkeller’s founder and creative director, “We have done a lot of them, but this is without a doubt the biggest so far, and we are extremely proud and happy to get this opportunity. We are looking forward to brewing a lot of fantastic beers and sharing them with the series’ dedicated fan base and other beer lovers".
The new beer, dubbed Iron Anniversary IPA, is a New England-style IPA, bottled at 7% ABV and, according to the beer descriptions, offers a "bright aroma of fresh pineapple, mango, rose petals, peach and a hint of vanilla, passionfruit and papaya".
This is just the latest addition to the Game of Thrones-themed series of drinks, following the Ommegang Game of Thrones beer as well as products released in partnership with Johnnie Walker and Vintage Wine Estates.
Mikkel added that this is just the first of a series, with at least two more beers expected to be launched in 2021 and many more in the coming years.
