Sure, Ranch sauce is a huge trend in the US at the moment, especially on TikTok, but let's not undermine the popularity of hot sauce. This fiery dip is best served alongside the likes of chicken wings - one of America's poultry favourites.

So with that in mind then, have you ever wondered what hot sauce is most popular in which US state? Well, now we know thanks to a survey conducted by Money.co.uk.

As you can see from the results, Cholula hot sauce came out on top and pretty much dominated the whole of America.

It's probably easier to list the states where Cholula ISN'T the most popular.

In Texas it's El Yucateco, California is of course Frank's Hot Sauce; Louisiana, Mississippi and Georgia favour Crystal Hot Sauce; Indiana, New Mexico and Arkansas loves The Rapture Hot Sauce; while Oregon prefers El Chilerito Chamoy hot sauce.

A whopping 80% of the 50 states searched for the brand more than any other over the past twelve months.

New York searched for the brand the most, 1,717 times over the past 12 months. Florida and Illinois took the second and third spot, with Cholula searched 1,475 and 903 times in the last year.

The original Cholula sauce blends piquin peppers, arbol peppers and spices. The sauce only has six ingredients in total including; water, peppers, vinegar, garlic powder, spices, and xanthan gum, making it the perfect choice for hot sauce purists.

  • None of those are in my fridge. I keep Valentines around for tacos, always Sriracha, garlic peri peri and usually there are some homemade hot sauces as well.
