These are the US states eating the most – and least – candy corn
'Tis the season for the most divisive candy
Ready or not, the autumn season is here and Halloween festivities are in full swing, especially in candy aisles where specialty treats are now available. As you peruse the colorful packaging of overwhelming choice, you cannot avoid the unmistakable white, orange, and yellow triangles that is candy corn. You either love it or hate it, there is little in-between.
Brach's is the best selling brand of candy corn, making up 95% of sales in the United States. They offer the classic variety and an "Autumn Mix" which includes brown and orange shaded candy corn and fun pumpkin shapes.
But to put the great divide into perspective, Brach's has released a map of their candy corn sales across the United States to get a better look of where its biggest fans are, and aren't.
Map by Ferrara
California claims the #1 spot for candy corn lovers, followed by Texas and Florida. Taking place in the last three spots (the least sales) are Alabama, Hawaii, and Nebraska. It's safe to say that Nebraska must prefer real corn to the seasonal imposter (corn is their most produced crop).
It's important to note that nine of the Top 10 Biggest Candy Corn Fans are also the most populous states (ie, more people = more sales).
In terms of the relationship between candy corn sales and population, Ohio is the 7th most populous state but their candy corn admiration didn't even break the Top 20. On the other end, Iowa, Kansas, and Louisiana rank much lower in population and have higher sales - truer candy corn devotees.

"Candy corn has been a Halloween staple for more than half a century," says Mariah Havens, the Director of Seasonal Marketing at Ferrara (who own Brach's). "But we also know that candy corn is one of the most divisive seasonal treats and there are some people who don't enjoy it."
To combat the division, Ferrara is introducing several new seasonal candies they hope will provide "a candy corn for everyone" (Havens). Candy corn will be available in unique NERDS flavors and a Minions-themed flavor of banana, blue raspberry, and vanilla.
Other new sweets to try this Halloween include NERDS Halloween Gummy Clusters, NERDS Fun Size Treat Bags, and Black Forest Gummy Bears & Keebler Fudge Stripes Minis Cookies. Whether you are a candy corn fan or not, Ferrara is making sure that everyone can make other choices this Halloween. You might just discover a new favorite!

You're in Ohio, correct? Then you're in the right state 😄 They didn't make the Top 20 in sales
