This boat is actually a floating cellar with 1,500 barrels of fine spirits
That’s a genius idea
This river boat is actually a floating cellar, capable of housing up to 1,500 barrels of spirits.
Maison Ferrand, a French Cognac and wine producer, decided to refurbish and repurpose this 73-year-old river barge and use it as a cellar for premium rum, Cognac and whisky. The vessel - Barge 166 - is located on the Seine river bank in Issy-les-Moulineux, a small commune in the outskirts of Paris.
Along with Maison Ferrand’s Cognac and rum, Barge 166 will also house (and age) spirits from select high-end producers such as Mackmyra Swedish Whisky.
Pretty cool, right?
