This dhal is perfect for a casual dinner with friends

It's super easy to make and tastes delicious

I had a few friends over for dinner this weekend and was kind of stressing about what to make. I decided on an Anna Jones recipe — she's one of my favorite chefs.

Her sweet potato dhal with coconut chutney is really easy. I did most of the prep and cooking beforehand, then served it up with cilantro, warm naan bread, salted Greek yogurt and a mango chutney. It worked out great.

You can check out the recipe here, and as a massive Anna Jones fan, I really recommend getting one of her three (soon to be four) books.

What did you cook up this weekend?

  • I’m not precisely sure why I can’t get the link to open from the app. I’ll go to annajones.co.uk and search around from there because it looks quite good.

    • Found it under the 7 days of recipes post. It sounds good. A little posh with the mortar and pestle herbs, but I can probably accomplish something similar using my cast iron pans and a rolling pin. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

    • Hey Amanda -- I actually didn't bother with the mortar and pestle, just used ground coriander and cumin seeds, worked fine =)
