This is a Hugo and that’s Portorož, a Monte Carlo-style sea town in Slovenia. Apart from seafood, beach bars and casinos, Portorož is famous for its wellness centres and SPAs but I’m more interested in the Hugo.
In the early 2000s, a bartender in South Tyrol (German-speaking area in Northern Italy) decided to come up with his own Prosecco-based cocktail because he was tired of drinking Spritz.
Hugo is made with Prosecco, elderflower, mint leaves and sparkling water. And it’s excellent
