Foodtribe some of you have been asking questions and have been a bit curious about my eating habits, mostly the fact that I only eat once a day. So I thought I would take time to write a little on why I do this.

Honestly there is no one cut and dry reason on why I do but many reasons I guess. I used to eat a lot all the time and that needed to change. There was also some health concerns as well. Plus I have always challenged myself. When I was a teenager I gave up chocolate and soda as well. When I was in my late teens to early twenties I experimented with short and long term fasting and learned how to tell if I am truly hungry or if I just wanted something to eat, there is a huge difference.

So several years ago I decided to only eat when I was truly hungry and not just wanting to eat. First to go was snacking. I realized that was just eating to eat, so it served no true purpose. Next was breakfast and to be honest it was the easiest. As long as I get my coffee I am good. Now lunch was a little rougher but I found that I did not need it.

Something I learned in this was that eating slowed me down. Once I took all this food out I realized I just done better. I felt better, I did not seem as sluggish and my energy levels got better and honestly I think it's because I am not carrying all that food in my belly.

So I was left with dinner And that was fine with me. You all see what I eat, so you know I am not afraid to eat. What I eat is usually heavy food so it stays with me. Now the days I want something light like a salad, the next day my hunger comes a little sooner sometimes. It's a balancing act you all.

Now there are the occasions were I will skip a day of eating all together. Lets say I eat something heavy and filling on Monday night and I will not eat again until Wednesday evening and honestly I feel fine. So several years later now and I am still doing it and honestly I don't miss it.

  • Wow! I believe it is possible to do, it just seems really hard when we love food 😳 I only skip breakfast, because I can't eat anything right after waking up, I need a few hours... But I agree when you say we eat way more than our bodies need, that's true 🤪

    • Well, I know it's possible. 😁 For me it was not that hard. Breakfast is definitely the easiest to give up. It is a lot for sure.

  • That’s really interesting and glad that works for you. I can skip lunch if I eat a big breakfast, but I have to eat at least breakfast and dinner or I’d snap from being hangry and it would not be pretty.
