TV chef James Martin is launching his own range of wines
They'll be available from next month
It seems like celebrity-endorsed and celebrity-produced wines are becoming a bit more of a thing now. For a good while now you've been able to buy wine from Caduceus Cellars, which is run by Grammy award-winning singer Maynard James Keenan. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie ran their own vineyard and made their own wine for a while too, although that business venture is looking likely to close in the near future. There's also that UB40 wine I talked about earlier in the year, as well as wines curated and endorsed by stars ranging from Sarah Jessica Parker to Jay Z to Graham Norton.
The next celebrity to get on the wine trend is TV chef James Martin, who'll be launching his own range of wines in the UK next month. Martin has been heavily involved in sourcing, selecting and blending the wines, which are all sourced from the Languedoc area of the South of France. They'll be produced as part of the Signature Chefs range by Wines and Brands in the village of Névian, near Narbonne in the Corbières region. The wines will be imported into the UK exclusively by Buckingham Schenk, a family-owned importer.
Each bottle of James Martin's wines will be sold with a neck hanger containing a recipe specifically created by him to match the style of the wine. A video of Martin cooking the dishes can be accessed by scanning a QR code on the hanger.
"We handpicked a wine producer with the help of local partners, and after much work, we narrowed it down to just two outstanding wines which truly reflect the quality on offer in the Corbières region," said Martin. "I’ve always loved the food and drinks produced in that part of France and these wines are no exception."
