Uludag Gazoz: The Drink to the Döner
I do not drink it with anything else. (usually)
Last Thursday, I was sitting out at the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel having a nice Döner. It was delicious, and I had a special Turkish Soda Pop to wash it all down.
The Drink is called Uludag, and exc for one or two Times, I only ever had it in Combination with a Döner. Despite that Fact, I had my first one without a Döner. I actually had it without any Food.
Normally, Uludag is supposed to have a Lemon Flavour, and there is also an Orange Version out there.
I only know the Lemony Kind though. And to me, it tastes more like some kind of Gum than anything else. The Soda Pop really is extremely sweet.
The Can. Legendary.
I think that is overly Sweet Taste is why I normally only have Uludag when I have a nice Döner. The Heartiness and the Sweet perfectly balance each other out.
At those Times when I have Uludag on its own, I kinda like that Sweetness, but I am usually not a Fan of that.
Cola almost Tatses like Water in direkt comparison. And Cola also has a boatload of Sugar in it.
Something with Sports.
Uludag and Döner are a legendary Combination here where I live. Most People actually buy a Can of the Drink when they go and have the Food.
It is, since a while, also available in Supermarkets and in Bottles though. But I have a suspicion that the Cans are actually more popular.
Uludag actually refers to a Turkish Mountain. Previously, the Drink was even made almost exclusively with Water coming from Springs in the Area. And Gazos jsut means Soda Pop. It probably comes from the French ‘Boisson Gazeuse’, meaning carbonated Drink.

Hey : Here it is.
Sometimes you need the contrast with food to make some flavors work. It almost sounds like Mountain Dew.
It actually is kinda similar.
Pretty interesting
