The October box is from Austria. Here's what I thought of it.
Sunland Farm Garden Style Sour Cream Chip
There's nothing special about these chips. They're sour cream and onion chips essentially. We've seen these chips done before. They seem thinner than American potato chips, with the same/similar amount of calories, carbs, and fat. However, you do get less salt in one bag of the chips.
The strawberry flavor of these really pops out, and I didn't realize there was going to be chocolate with the wafer, which makes for a fantastic snack. Though they are small, I would need to buy a 5-pound bag of these to share with the whole family.
Maria Theresia Pralines
The chocolate is soft and the filling seems to remind me of a chocolate version of cherry-filled chocolates my grandfather used to get all the time. There is a nut in the center as well. Turns out the creme filling is nougat, which makes the chocolate even better.
Pom-Bär Ketchup Style
I do not know what to make of these. They're very thin, and the taste is heavy with potato instead of ketchup; even though you do taste the ketchup too. They're shaped as little bears. These are particularly interesting because I've had other ketchup flavored chips in the past.
Kelly's Creamy Onion Mini Fritts
They're onion-flavored potato stick chips you can get anywhere like a Dollar store. They're not bad, but nothing groundbreaking.
Pischinger Mandel Ecken
These are chocolatey, with a heavy almond influence. I feel I could chow down on these all day. A strong contender for the best out the box this month.
Schwarze Johannisbeer Stangerl
The blackcurrant berry inside the delicious dark chocolate is technically illegal to grow in the USA. But to eat it is not illegal. On the first bite, you definitely taste the chocolate, with the candy leaving a pleasant aftertaste. The strong berry taste added to chocolate makes a great snack.
These smell and taste like peanuts... they look like a peanut-sized Cheeto, but I don't want to describe them as a corn puff with peanut flavoring...
Good news: the nut and glaze are tasty. Bad news: the gingerbread itself is glorified cardboard. The glazing and nuts have saved this item. When I tore the cookie in half to share with my aunt, it almost had that cardboard rip-apart consistency as well.
Nut Joe Haselnuss Waffel
The wafer is cardboard-like, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the rich chocolate that comes with this bar.
Kelly's Paprika Chips
Amazing paprika flavor which is almost reminiscent of barbeque chips.
This gingerbread is more moist than the other gingerbread in the box. The dark chocolate melted in my hands, and the plum filling was out-of-this-world good.
I had to put this one in the freezer because my room completely melted the chocolate. Upon tasting the product: deep milk chocolate that left my tastebuds a bit numb. It was good.
Pischinger Riegal Haselnuss Noir
Rich, chocolatey wafers with the extra crunch of nuts. Really good.
This tastes like a hybrid banana and cherry, though it does smell like a really sweet and ripe banana. The chocolate portion of the candy fell apart and melted. The aftertaste is strong on the banana, which is very soft, yet chewy.
Cool Mint Lemon
This tastes like a lemon-flavored peppermint patty. It's good, although strangely some patties have a stronger lemon flavor. My cousin however said she'd rather consume dust spray.
Bobby Caramel Bar
The caramel in the Bobby Caramel Bar is authentic and rich. And the chocolate is even more indulgent, making it a real treat. Though it sticks to the roof of your mouth, it's worth it, and I could have eaten more.
Bobby Banana Bar
It's almost as if you're biting into a chocolate-dipped banana. The aftertaste tastes like a banana too.
My cousin thinks these are bland. My aunt loves them. I think they're good: not great, but good. The strawberry creme is a bit too much after a few pieces.
