Video showing raw chicken on the baggage claim carousel goes viral

People do inexplicable things sometimes

A few weeks ago the TSA (US Transportation Security Administration) shared a video on its Instagram account showing a pile of raw chicken circling the baggage claim carousel at a US airport.

The agency said the meat was initially placed inside a cooler but somehow fell out.

"We hear at one time these wings and thighs were cooped up in a cooler. Somewhere between baggage and the carousel they became free range," TSA wrote in the caption.

They also added that meat should be properly stored and packaged before travel but to be honest I have a hard time understanding why people do this. I mean who does this? β€œOkay, I gotta pack. What do I need? Toothbrush, underwear, sunscreen. Ah yes, I also need some raw chicken.” People are weird.

Whatβ€˜s the craziest thing you’ve seen while travelling through airports?

  • Many decades ago, my hubby and I had to take a bus down south so we could pick up a van he'd purchased to drive back home. We had to change buses at the Port Authority in New York, where they were inspecting people's luggage. A woman opened her suitcase and a huge ham rolled out and hit the floor with a loud "clunk." The inspectors tried to explain that she was not allowed to bring the thing aboard the bus, but she didn't understand, so they ended up just repacking it for her and letting her keep it. I'm not sure that would fly now... 😏

  • I wouldn't be surprised if this happened in NYC πŸ˜…. One time coming back to NY, I saw a lady carrying about 36 live-ish crabs, plastic containers with fresh fruit, and cooked pork in her bags. I couldn't believe it but the customs agents didn't look surprised πŸ˜‚.
