Vintage Treats: Weird Gum Balls without any flavour at all
No really; they don't claim to be flavoured like anything.
As a child, I always liked gum balls, but we were rarely allowed any. I guess that was because of their very high sugar content.
A few days ago, whilst meandering through the aisles of my usual Vintage Treats dealer, I came across the childhood forbidden fruit.
Naturally, I had to try some.
A 28 Ball Pack.
Just like I remember, those stupid gum balls were in some unnecessarily huge packaging, and were very colourful. Both those characteristics attract kids as if they were magnetic.
But since I've only ever seen them in that obscure shop, I guess their popularity must have faded since then.
So Colourful!
How did they taste? Like plain gum, with no real flavour whatsoever. That definitely has not changed.
All I really know about these is that they are probably not very healthy. And that they were kinda like a high-value Primary School currency, if I remember it right. But I might also be mistaken about that.
I also have to say that I was a little disappointed. Maybe you should really never meet your childhood heroes.

I used to have those when I was a kid, they were hard as a rock and leaved the tongue with colors. I am sure those are disgusting but as a kid the main attraction was ending up with colored tongue, favorite one was blue tone 😅
Well…
These were very soft, hollow inside, and they also did not leave any Colour behind.
A lot of the artificial coloring that was used in past years has been dropped because some of them cause bad things to happen when they're consumed - perhaps the replacement colors are less potent?
I have never seem gum packaged like that. Sometimes meeting your childhood heros is a bad thing.
Right!?
Sorry to hear you were disappointed
Oh I remember these 😆
😊
I remember those things maybe in slightly smaller quanties. Looking back they were awful but great at the sametime. My local Hardware store has a Gumball machine with their madern relative still no flavour...
It can be pretty disappointing
