Waitrose selling incredible edible flower covered Alpine cheese
No cheeseboard would be complete without it
A huge part of the holiday season is cheeseboards, and Waitrose is selling the perfect centerpiece. A cheese made in Germany with cows milk from two Brown Swiss herds and wrapped in alpine flowers.
The confetti sprinkled look is from the mixture of dried cornflowers, rose petals, calendula, lavendar and herbs all from the alpine meadows and adds a grassy and delicate floral note to the cheese which has a creamy and luxuriously smooth texture along with a rich and nutty taste.

Cheese buyer at Waitrose, Alice Shrubsall had this to say about the cheese, "The trend for more unusual and flavored cheese has been growing among our customers who love to experiment when it comes to flavors and varieties. Our shoppers come to our counters for inspiration, innovation and unique products that can’t be found anywhere else, as well as expertise from our Partners, so this cheese is the perfect new addition.
“The cheese has a really unique and delicate aroma to match its pretty appearance, but packs a punch when it comes to flavor. Cheese is often the finale of a special meal and this stunning Alp Blossom will be a real showstopper on the cheeseboard this Christmas.”
This cheese has matured for six months and Waitrose recommends combing the cheese with Lincolnshire Poacher, a light brie and Colston Bassett Blue Stilton/creamy goat cheese if you don't like blue cheese and a variety of fruits such as pears or grapes.
You can get the Alp Blossom Cheese at the Waitrose cheese counter for £28 per kg.
We think this looks absolutely delicious, but will you be adding this to your cheeseboard this holiday season?
