You may have heard in recent weeks that James May has bought half a pub. Although it's still having finishing touches added to it ahead of its opening next week, James kindly offered to give us a sneak peek at what's to come.

I think 'Privy Chambers' would suit the ambience of The Royal Oak....I'm really looking forward to going........and not just to the toilet either!

Very glad that the pub will reopen, as it's been our local since 1980: but it hasn't been closed for over a year: it closed one day after lockdown in March. I agree: what could be worse than farmers at the bar talking about grain prices? Er...oh, never mind. Great that Jonny S is staying on: v sad about some others who aren't. Nonetheless, good luck to James and the team! Toilets or WCs would be ok, I guess.
