Watch: Jeremy Clarkson to give potatoes to self-isolating elderly
He's got 10 tonnes of spuds and 10 tonnes of heart...
Jeremy Clarkson may have got a bit of a reputation for himself over the years, but he’s a kind and charitable man at heart.
The FoodTribe and DriveTribe founder revealed he will give potatoes grown on his farm to self-isolating elderly residents living near his farm in Oxfordshire.
During an exclusive tour of his Diddly Squat farm shop, Clarkson said,
“The farm shop is shut, for reasons that you’ll see when you see the show go out on Amazon, but I’ll show you inside since it’s been all over social media.
“…I think when self-isolation really kicks in and the older people in the village are really struggling, I’ll give these potatoes away to them.
“So I won’t have grown them for nothing. They’re not just going to rot.
“Someone said this morning they’d been to a supermarket just up the road and you literally can’t buy a single potato up there. So what these are are muddy gold.
“I think I’ve got about 10 tonnes left so there’s plenty to go around.”
