I really like to make some Bacon Jam from time to time. I also like to change my ingredients every single time.
And since John Coleman’s #RumChallenge is still going on, I decided to add a bit of my Captain Morgan into the mix.
My Ingredients minus the Bacon.
Adding Rum was not the only thing I did differently this time around though.
I also added half an Apple into the Mix, and instead of Maple Syrup I used some Honey. But that only happened because my Syrup had gone Bad.
Because I dod not have any fresh ones, I also used freeze-dried Onions. Those actually worked out kinda nicely.
With a Cheeseburger.
Since I also needed something for the Bacon Jam to go on, I made a simple double Cheeseburger.
For that Burger, I used 200g of Beef in two Patties, some Spanish Goats Cheese and Remoulade spiked with some British Curry Powder. It was great.
Bacon Jam with Rum.
Using some Rum in my Bacon Jam definitely was a great Choice as it added a lot of Depth to its Flavour Profile.
I should have cooked it a bit longer to soften the Apple a little more though. I was afraid it would all stick to my non-no-stick Pan though.
I am definitely happy with my Results, and I might actually use Rum again the next Time I make Bacon Jam.
