Yakisoba, or Japanese style fried noodle is a very simple dish. Even my kids can make it themselves. However, if you know these 7 secrets, you can take your Yakisoba to the next level.

1. Microwave your noodles for 30 seconds before cooking.
2. Saute vegetables, noodles, and meats separately, then mix together later.
3. Saute pork till nice and crispy.
4. Cook noodles till light brown and crispy.
5. Add "tenkasu" or tempura crumbs to absorb extra water.
6. Soy sauce gives kick.
7. Add the white part of Tokyo negi.

  • Nice to see one of my favourite recipes, and one of the first Japanese recipes I ever learned in Japan! If you want to skip the seasoning packets, you can do so easily. Just add Worcestershire sauce, instead. A dash of soy, and some oyster sauce (if you wish). Season liberally with pepper. And add all the goodies she did. Pork tenderloin is great and so is some beef. Arigato gozaimasu, Ai-chan!!
