I would say it depends on your other toppings, swiss is better with like mushrooms but then blue cheese is better with bacon or more salty toppings. Same for cheddar which is perfect for a regular burger, but I’d say cheddar is my favorite of them all
Applewood smoked chedder is my preferred choice of cheese on a burger. I buy the imported brand made in Somerset, England. The supermarket I get it from slices it and sells it individual packages.

I agree with pairings with the cheese, that is a big determining factor. A good cheddar is hard to beat.

It depends on what I’m going to have on my burger as to what kind of cheese. I seem to mostly go with American, cheddar or Swiss.

That sounds wonderful! I really enjoy a smoked cheddar but this sounds even better.
