Why do you eat meal replacements?

Please please tell me why!

Personally I would never replace a meal. I am way too food obsessed but I know plenty of people do and this new vegan product landing on my door made me want to understand it more.

So today my son had a massive bag of meal replacement delivered from a new Company and being nosey I had a really good look at it to see what he was up to and try and understand it.

It seems this meal replacement is top of the range because their quality of their nutrition per calorie claims to be the highest in the market.

The way it reads to me is you could also use it to diet because you can have all your nutrients in less than the calories you need in a day too - and although it doesn’t seem to be designed for this it looks perfectly possible.

He uses it because he’s short of time but I find it takes me only 30 seconds to whip up an omelette or less to peel a banana so is it really time saving?

Tell me all you food replacement fans out there why you do it and is this the future?

Is it time, convenience or money?

Do you look for maximum nutrition or is it down to price?

Is this the future or is it eating insects?

  • What's wrong with eating food? I don't really care for anything which is too processed.

  • Usually meal replacements happen if I am in back to back meetings with no lunch break or if I am traveling through unknown and somewhat desolate territory.

  • so, the grasshopper? Is the meal replacement made of grasshoppers? If so, they should go to Ethiopia with a big Hoover and suck up enough material so that they can sell it for 10 cents a pound

  • I don't. Unless I'm in hospital and I didn't get the Nil By Mouth sign down before the food trolley came through.
