Tasty foraging!

If you are not familiar with these, they are morel mushrooms and they are in season for the picking. They are only available for about a couple of months and then they are gone til next year. These were already soaked in some salt water for me and were dried. So I took and dipped it in some buttermilk, tossed it in seasoned flour and into the hot oil they go! Crispy rich goodness! Oh yes!

All nice and crispy!

  • Mmm...that looks pretty cool, I remember in my childhood we used to pick parasol mushrooms and coat them in eggs, salt and breadcrumbs.. then fried them on a pan, something wonderful πŸ˜πŸ˜‹

    • Nice...I saw that some ppl use some flour instead of breafcrumbs but I think both options are pretty nice πŸ™ƒ but I would be crazier than my mum and add more spices coz it's me, lol πŸ˜‚

  • Oh, these look so delicious. And they are not as dark as the dried ones "from Europe" I bought online 😁.
