Some people may complain about their loved ones going to the local boozer a bit too often but there isn't much they can do. You can't exactly take the pub out of the man but you can take the man out of the pub.

This is exactly what Jayne Tapper from Devon has done. She has decided to take the matter into her own hands and build a pub in their back garden to stop her husband from going to the pub so often.

The pub took around five months to build and is appropriately named the Doghouse Inn. The idea behind it was for her husband, Paul to bring his mates round this pub instead of going out to the pub so she could see him a bit more.

The Doghouse Inn wasn't a cheap project either. Jayne said she spent well over £4,000 on the build following on from a £15,000 garden releveling job.

So, what exactly is included for the money spent? Well, the cabin itself cost £2,700, the church pew was £100, arcade game was £650, the bar £400, heater £70, fridges £100 and pictures were a further £50. Now, this doesn't even factor in the price of restocking the bar with booze.

But was it worth it? Well, Paul said "I love using it too and I’d quite happily spend most nights in there. It’s great to chill in and it really does feel like I’m in my local!." Judging by that, I would say it's a success. Well done Jayne.
