You can book a stay at a chocolate orange themed hotel in France

Everybody loves a good Hôtellerie + food combo

Themed hotels are probably the coolest thing since the invention of sliced bread. Or chocolate. This particular hotel, located in La Rosière in the French Alps, is actually the ultimate food + Hôtellerie combo: an orange chocolate-themed hotel. Wonderful.

Basically everything, from the decor to the pillows in the rooms, is inspired by orange chocolate. There are orange splashes on the wall, orange slice-shaped pillows, chocolate bar-shaped tables and the list goes on. There are also Christmas trees adorned with chocolate orange baubles and, upon request, stockings filled with chocolate orange snacks.

Guests will be treated to a chocolate orange cocktail - or a orange hot chocolate if alcohol's not your thing - on arrival and even toilet paper in the bathrooms is chocolate orange scented. Furthermore, as this hotel is essentially a ski resort, you can also get custom chocolate orange skis upon request. Prices start from £93 per person per night.

The hotel is awesome and, more to the point, I've checked Google Maps and the location is just as spectacular as the hotel, which leaves me with a question:

What is the best hotel you've ever stayed in?

  • It was on Kreta (Crete) - though it was a big resort, it was like a village. All were friendly, the food was perfect and everything seemed to be easy and the people were like family. I don’t remember the name. And the second was the Goldener Adler in Beilngries, Altmühltal, South of Germany. Homemade 🍻. Delicious- and the food, it was great. The people were warm-hearted, so nice. Ok, now I want to have holidays. Now. 😎

  • That orange might be a bit much to wake up to, is the aroma of orange piped into the room as well??

  • That's easy blue waters in Antigua. The most beautiful room with double basins in the bathroom. A balcony where we could walk out into the gardens. A view out over the Carribbean. Our own private beach. A restaurant to die for. I'm a very lucky man 😃
